Crews expected to spray around Fresno County for West Nile Virus

Local News

FRESNO COUNTY, California (KSEE/KGPE) – Health officials say West Nile Virus activity was detected throughout areas of the Central Valley and crews will be out spraying Thursday night.

Crews will “conduct adult mosquito control with ultra-low volume (ULV) applications of registered insecticides to reduce the number of adult mosquitoes in the area where the mosquitoes were collected,” a news release read.

Here is a map of where crews will be spraying.

“You do not need to leave an area when truck spraying for mosquito control takes place. If you prefer to stay inside and close windows and doors when spraying takes place you can, but it is not necessary,” officials said.
