SNELLING, California — The Merced County Fire Department is working fast to extinguish a blaze that sparked Saturday afternoon.

The fire has burned around 150-200 acres so far, according to the CAL FIRE Madera Mariposa Merced Unit’s Emergency Command Center, on the north side of Merced Falls Road between La Grange Road and Hornitos Road.

The fire was reported in at 12:09 p.m.

No structures have been damaged yet, but the fire is threatening homes.
