MADERA RANCHOS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) — Crews battled a large fire in Madera County Thursday.
The blaze engulfed “Public Auctions R US,” a commercial building near Highway 41 and Avenue 11, investigators say.
Fire officials say they received a call of a fire at the auction house around 11:00 a.m. Thursday. When crews arrived, they say the 30,000 square foot building was completely engulfed in flames.
Fire crews say the building will not be salvageable, and that there was damage to a nearby business. There are no injuries reported to either civilians or any of the 50 firefighters on the scene.
The roadway is expected to be closed for hours as crews finish extinguishing the fire and investigators collect information.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
