Cooling centers to open around the Central Valley during triple digit heat

Cooling Centers Open

Cooling centers will be available this weekend in a couple of Central Valley cities and FAX buses will provide free rides to and from some locations.

Below are the cooling centers in the city of Fresno that’ll be open from noon to 8 p.m.

Ted C. Wills Community Center, 770 N. San Pablo Ave.
Frank H. Ball Neighborhood Center, 760 Mayor Ave.
Mosqueda Community Center, 4670 E. Butler Ave.
Pinedale Community Center, 7170 N. San Pablo Ave.

There is a cooling center opening in Merced at the Sam Pipes Room in the Merced Civic Center (city hall) at 678 W. 18th St.

People can bring their pets to the Merced cooling zone as long as they don’t disturb other people or pets, the city says.
