A Clovis pet rescue celebrated their five year anniversary, as well as the adoption of thousands of animals on Saturday since their opening in 2013.

Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center marked the occasion by placing more than 4,000 pinwheels in the ground at the nearby park area to represent the thousands of animals that found their forever homes.

Rescue spokesperson, Taylor Mosher, says more than a hundred children helped put together the pinwheels and got to take them home.

At least 500 people attended the event, and several animals were adopted on Saturday.
