FRESNO COUNTY, California (KSEE/KGPE) – A 8-year-old child was killed in a Reedley crash Friday.

It happened when a 21-year-old unlicensed driver allegedly blew a stop sign near South and Alta Avenue. California Highway Patrol says he struck a car driving through the intersection, killing a child, 8, on impact.

The child is identified as Eliseo Saldana, 8, of Reedley.

Two others in the car had minor injuries.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help with memorial arrangements for Eliseo.

The driver at fault was not injured, and alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in the crash.

Daniel Lemus, 21, of Reedley was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and driving unlicensed.
