CHP: Four killed in Merced County crash, including two children

Local News

Four people were killed in a north valley crash Sunday night, according to California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 9 p.m. in Los Banos near Highway 33 when the driver, 40, reportedly lost control of his 2017 Nissan Altima, crossed over into opposing traffic, onto a dirt shoulder and broadsided a tree.

CHP says all four occupants were dead on impact, including the male driver, female passenger, 22, and male children, ages 9 and 2.

They were all wearing seat belts and the toddler was in a car seat, CHP says.
