Central Valley high school students got a crash course in journalism at Fresno City College Friday.
It was all part of the third annual Journalism Day.
Students attended workshops, learning all facets of media, from print to broadcast to online. They also learned about ethics, media laws, even fake news.
Organizers say it’s important for the students to learn the vital role of journalism.
“I want students to realize that journalism is real, and, that, if there’s no journalism we wouldn’t have a democracy here in the United States,” says Dympna Ugwu-Oju, a journalism instructor at Fresno City College.
Several members of our team were there to offer advice and to answer questions.
