The Central California SPCA is offering free dog and cat food to furloughed federal employees during the government shutdown.

“In light of the ongoing federal government shutdown, the Central California SPCA is offering free dog and cat food to federal employees who have been impacted,” the organization said in a news release.

Those in need of pet food can visit the CCSPCA gift store on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The gift store is adjacent to the adoption center at 103 S. Hughes Ave., and recipients must provide a valid government issued ID.

Anyone who wishes to donate dog and/or cat food that will be provided to the furloughed employees, you can bring the donations to the adoption center.

“Cans of wet dog and cat food are especially needed at this time,” CCSPCA says.
