Bystanders save a man’s life on the Kings River after a near drowning

REEDLEY, California (KSEE/KGPE) – Thanks to good samaritans, a man’s life was saved on the Kings River after he nearly drowned Saturday.

Just before 4 p.m., several agencies responded to a reported drowning at Reedley Beach. When they arrived, a man was already pulled from the water.

Bystanders performed CPR on him, bringing him back to consciousness.

He was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery thanks in part to the vigilance of beach goers and CPR performed by the bystanders, authorities said.

Adding, “Knowing what to do in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest, or in the event like this one this afternoon is crucial and essential to saving someone’s life, or the life of your own family or friends.”
