At least one person dead in collision with a semi-truck in Fresno County

Local News

At least one person died in a collision between a car and a semi-truck Friday afternoon.

The crash between the semi-truck and car happened around 3:15 p.m. at Dinuba and Bethel avenues in Parlier, according to Vic Taylor with the California Highway Patrol.

A passenger in the crash was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Taylor says the semi-truck was stopped at a stop sign when the driver of a sedan crossed over at a high-rate of speed and collided into the driver side of the truck.

The truck driver did not suffer injuries.

Because the truck was hauling a fuel tanker, a HAZMAT situation is being investigated.

Eleven miles away, at 4:15 p.m. CHP responded to the area of Conejo and Fowler avenues for a fatal head-on collision between a white truck and black car.
