The victim of an armed robbery in the south valley speaks out, hoping the suspect is caught soon.
“Normal day. Came in, I was on the computer just shopping online,” said Bandar Ahmed.
Ahmed seen on surveillance video doing just that Wednesday around 4 P.M. at his smoke shop before a man holds him at gun point. Ahmed says he demanded him to “give him the money”.
“Thought he was just joking. Thought he was someone I knew but nah,” said Ahmed, owner of Bandar Smoke Shop in Earlimart, Calif.
Ahmed handed the suspect the a little under $200 in cash, still in shock. His family lives down the street and Ahmed says his dad saw the armed robber running to a white four-door Honda with an accomplice.
“He just heard them like ‘let’s go, let’s go open the car,'” said Ahmed.
Tulare County Sheriff’s detectives are also investigating an armed robbery that happened at the Dollar General in Goshen Thursday evening, releasing this photo of the suspect. They say he pointed a revolver at multiple clerks demanding money.
“Same outfit, same hat, same jeans,” said Ahmed.
Detectives say the white letters on the hat read “Visalia”. Ahmed believes that’s the same man who threatened his life and showed surveillance video of a man wearing a black flat-brimmed hat with white letters peaking into his store. Ahmed says he noticed him 30 minutes before getting robbed. Only difference? The hoodie.
“I noticed the face right away. It was the same guy. He wasn’t wearing no mask, no nothing,” said Ahmed.
Ahmed hopes the suspect is caught soon and he’s relieved he can come home to his wife and family.
“No amount of money is worth a life,” said Ahmed.
