A mission to make dreams come true for children with critical illnesses in Merced

A mission to make dreams come true for children living with critical illnesses.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation brings new hope to kids in the Central Valley and across the country by taking their minds off hospitals and treatment and letting them do fun things like going to Disneyland.

Pam Duarte is chair and one of the founders of the Central California Chapter of Make-A-Wish serving Merced County.

She says in some cases, the little kids don’t have much time left.

“None of what we do is ever going to replace that child but some day we hope that the family can look back at the pictures of that vacation and its going to be in their heart forever,” Duarte says.

The organization is holding a dinner and auction Saturday night at the Merced County Fairgrounds.
