A 16-year-old dirt bike rider died Saturday night after a collision with a big rig in Fresno County, CHP says.

At around 4:48 p.m., a big rig was headed southbound on Clovis Avenue between Dinuba and Huntsman avenues when the dirt bike rider pulled out of a dirt shoulder of the road and the two collided, says CHP spokesperson, Vic Taylor.

The truck driver was “upset” and “sorrowful” while on his way home and didn’t see the teen pull out in front of him, says Sgt. Edward Jacobs with CHP.

When he looked out of his window, he saw the teen and his dirt bike on the ground and stopped immediately.

Drugs and/or alcohol are not a factor, Jacobs says.

The teen died at the scene.

Jacobs says the teen did not have a license.

As of 10:50 p.m. Saturday, Taylor, CHP spokesperson, says there is not a confirmed identification on the victim.
