400-acre fire burning in Mariposa County

MARIPOSA COUNTY, California – Firefighters are battling a 400-acre fire in Mariposa County on Thursday.

The fire is burning in the area of Bear Valley Road and Cotton Creek Road.

Multiple firefighting units have responded.

Structures are threatened, and firefighters are in defensive mode.

Cal Fire is calling the fire the “Hunter Fire.”

As of 6:30 p.m., the fire is reported at 60% contained.
