If you decide to go see an upcoming Beatles tribute production–be on the look out for a local quartet.
The Buchanan High School string quartet will be joining professional actors on stage during the show “In my Life- A Musical Theater Tribute to the Beatles”.
“In My Life” is the story of the Beatles through the eyes of manager Brian Epstein. It features live music from the tribute band Abbey Road.
The string quartet is made up of four students from Buchanan, senior Peter Thao, junior Brianna Alconcher, sophomore Kalvin Xiong and freshman Solon Ma.

They will join the band for the songs “Eleanor Rigby,” “Yesterday,” “A Day in the Life,” “Hello Goodbye,” and “Hey Jude.”
“Buchanan High has one of the strongest music programs in the country and we try to hire them whenever we return to the region,” said co-producer Tom Maher.
Organizers say the producers of “In My Life” approached Buchanan High Director of Orchestras John Lack looking for a talented group. The producers hired Buchanan High School String Quartets to perform with the show in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
In the past four years the show played to capacity when they performed in the Tower District.
The show returns to the Tower District theater on Friday, October 20th. Tickets are $29 to $39 and may be purchased at the theater box office or on their website.
