Local celebrities will tee up at new event to help local ALS Association chapter

The Central Valley’s weather is getting warmer and warmer, meaning summer is just around the corner. Also means a new event by the ALS Association Golden West Chapter is coming up.

The chapter is hosting the Inaugural William Miller Memorial Celebrities and Heroes ALS Golf Classic on May 17 at the Belmont Country Club in Fresno. As the name suggests, local celebrities and heroes — like military veterans — will get a chance to tee up and support the local ALS community.

Two famous names who have signed on so far are world champion boxer Jose Ramirez and Fresno State and former major league baseball player Joe Xavier.

Organizers are still looking for more names to sign on, especially more heroes in the area. Those who sign on will play for free.

Below is general information of the event and who to contact for more details:

  • Friday, May 17, 10:30 a.m.
  • Belmont Country Club, 8253 E. Belmont Ave., Fresno, CA 93737
  • Contact Anita Martin at (559)284-8185 or at anitamartin0610@gmail.com.
