KSEE24 & CBS47 Partner with Central California Blood Center for Founder's Day of Caring

FRESNO, Calif. - The need for blood donors in the Central Valley is critical. That's why CBS47/KSEE24 has teamed up with the Central California Blood Center and Me-N-Eds Pizza for the "Pint for a Pie" event.

The blood drive will take place on Friday, June 15 from 8am to 6pm during our Nexstar Founders Day at both CCBC locations. For the addresses, click here.

Tatiana Partain is the marketing supervisor at CCBC. She said blood is always in need, but especially now.

"Unfortunately, blood donations do take a dip during the summer months, but because travel is increasing, so are accidents," said Partain.

Every year, our parent company Nexstar Broadcasting, organizes a day of service known as the Founder's Day of Caring.

"We were looking for something special and so this year, what we decided to do, was to dedicate our efforts to partner with the Central California Blood Center. And the reason that we did that is because one of our teammates here, one of our employees is battling a health related blood issue," stated Matt Rosenfeld, the general manager of CBS47/KSEE24.

Rosenfeld and Partain said it's a reminder of how easy and important it is to donate blood.

"It helps create awareness and getting people to recognize that the need for blood doesn't stop," ended Partain.
