KERMAN, California – The Chief of Police of Kerman is retiring Wednesday.

Chief Joseph Blohm made the announcement on Facebook.

“Today will be the last day that I will serve as the Chief of Police for this wonderful community,” Blohm said. “It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you. I leave knowing that my staff and I have made Kerman a safer place as we have reduced Part 1 Crimes by 40% in this community over the past 8 years.”

Blohm previously spent 32 years with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

He was appointed as chief in 2011.

Wednesday will be his last day.
