Surveillance video shows jewelry store owner being assaulted and robbed

Muhammad Attique says he's thankful to be alive

FRESNO, Calif. - A Fresno jewelry store owner speaks out just two days after being tied up and beaten by masked suspects. These two suspects are at large and have traumatized the owner of KH Jewelers. He's not only planning to hire an armed security guard. He also plans to arm himself after being victimized in the violent attack.

Muhammad Attique's nightmare is captured on surveillance cameras. Police say the attack happened moments after two suspects caught Attique by surprise in front of his jewelry store.

"And I had that fear you know, if I would have done something right now, he will shoot me." said Attique.

Attique says the masked robbers made him deactivate the alarm system and open his safes before tying him up, beating him and stealing everything. Both suspects even kicked Attique while he's down. He says this isn't the first time he's been robbed.

"You know my mom has gone through this in the past and she knows how it is. The fear. And me, my mom and my dad were held at gun point," said Attique.

The first suspect is described wearing a dark colored hat and brown tunic style dress with black pants and black shoes, carrying a dark bag. The second suspect is seen wearing a black hat, tan dress and carrying a reddish orange backpack. Attique says seeing his two young children after the attack was emotional.

"I know my family would support them but they won't have their father," said Attique.

Police say the suspects also stole Attique's car before abandoning it in a neighborhood west of the store. Attique is grateful he didn't lose more than material things.

"Thankful to God that I'm okay right now. I could be dead," said Attique.

If you recognize anything about the suspects, police urge you to call Crime Stoppers at 498-STOP.
