A jewelry store owner is recovering after he was beaten, tied up and robbed at gunpoint.

Police are on the hunt for two suspects. Officials said this happened just after 11 Sunday morning, at KH Jewelers Inc, that’s near Ashlan and Marks Avenues.

Muhammad Attique, the store owner of eight years, said he was released from the hospital.

He said he’s at home resting but in a lot of pain.

We spoke with him over the phone about the terrifying situation.

“As I opened up the door there is like two people running from the right side of the corner, one of them put a gun on me and made me go inside the store,”  Muhammad Attique, owner of KH Jewelers Inc., said.

He said once inside the suspects told him to turn the alarm off.

Attique said that’s when they starting hitting him in the ribs, one forcing him into the back office.

“He says where’s your safe at? Where’s your safe at? Open it or else I’m going to shoot you in the head,” he said.

Attique said one of them started cussing at him, calling out racial slurs.

“The tall guy brought me outside and kicked me in the leg and made me fall down and he zipped tied me and zipped tied my hands,” Attique said.

In his store, he said he carries everything from loose diamonds, sapphires, emeralds and coins.

Attique said he’s not sure how much the suspects got away with but it was in the thousands.

He said once they left he was able to get free and call police.

Police said the suspect took off in the victim’s car but it was found in a neighborhood just south of the store, abandoned.

“There’s no items of evidence that we could see initially by just by looking into it,” Lt. Stephen Viveros, with the Fresno Police Department, said.

Attique, a father of two, said he begged for his life in that terrifying moment.

“Thank God that I’m ok, that I’m alive,” he said.

Attique said the store will remain closed for a couple of day, as of right now he’s not sure when he’ll reopen it.

Police are still searching for the two suspects. Police describe one suspect, as an African American male, about 6 feet, 210 pounds, wearing all black clothing, armed with a hand gun, wearing a mask.

They said the second suspect is described as a white male, about 5’1 or 5 ‘2, thin build, wearing all black clothing and also wearing a mask.
