Inmate found dead at Fresno County Jail

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit is investigating the death of an inmate at the Fresno County Jail. 

On November 14th, around 3:15 a.m. correctional officers were distributing meals to inmates in a pod of the North Annex Jail when they noticed one inmate lying on his bed, unresponsive.

Officers quickly began CPR on the inmate. EMS personnel transported him to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

He has been identified as 26-year-old Daniel Weaver. 

Weaver was booked into the Fresno County Jail on October 21, 2018. The Fresno man was in custody for warrants related to misdemeanor charges of drug possession and violating a domestic violence protective order.

This is an ongoing investigation, an autopsy has been scheduled.
