How a cardboard cube could save lives, homes & resources

News

The Guardian is basically a 4-foot cardboard cube…designed to fit in the back of any airplane or helicopter.
It acts as a metric ton rain drop to help fight fires more efficiently and safely – at a fraction of the cost compared to other firefighting techniques.

Rick Goddard, the Managing Director at Caylym, created The Guardian
“The Guardian, it’s an aeriel fire fighting system it’s actually a container delivery system that fits in any cargo configured aircraft,” Goddard said.

Goddard says traditionally water and fire retardant can only travel in specific firefighting configured aircrafts.
The trick to The Guardian – portable placement into any aircraft…
and the ability to drop from higher altitudes.. increasing accessibility and efficiency.

It’s a  technology adapted by various countries including Romania, Portugal, Chile and Italy.
Assemblymember Jim Patterson wants to see The Guardian used in California.

“The sooner they get modernized the sooner we will be safer the sooner the fires are going to be put out quicker the sooner our firefighters aren’t going to have to risk their lives all the time. There’s an answer to this and California needs to recognize this,” Patterson said.

Goddard says it’s his goal to have The Guardian approved by the state of California and actively used by various firefighting agencies by next fire season.
