Highway 41 near Sierra Sky Ranch is back open tonight after the California Highway Patrol shut down the road because of dangerous road conditions.
The closure happened just after 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning because of several vehicles sliding off the road north of Oakhurst.
CHP Officer Pedro Barajas said wet and slick roads were causing hazardous conditions for motorist.
Your Central Valley found John Gardea, a charter bus driver putting on his snow chains as he waited for the highway to reopen.
“Heard there was a couple of accidents up ahead, so we’re kinda stuck here for the meantim,.” he said.
Gardea was taking a bus full of people from Southern California to Yosemite National Park.
California Highway Patrol is urging drivers to plan ahead and check on road conditions, if they need to head up to the mountains.
