Heavy rain hits again

In the past month, Fresno has seen more wet days than dry. Precipitation was observed at Fresno’s Airport 19 days out of the past 30.

Widespread rain is expected Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Winds will be strong and gusty in the Valley, especially north.

Thunderstorms are possible Wednesday.

Some showers will continue Thursday.

There’s a Flash Flood Watch in effect for foothill areas (elevations below 7,000 feet in the Sierra Nevada) from 10 am Tuesday through 4 am Thursday.

Expect slick roads, pooling and ponding water. There may be mudslides, rockslides and debris flow flooding in the foothills and Southern Sierra Nevada below the snow line. Burn scar areas are of particular concern.
