Grizzly Fest Fast Approaching, Organizers Finishing Final Touches

FRESNO, Calif. -- Thousands of people will fill Woodward Park for Grizzly Fest next weekend. 

Artists like Foster the People and Snoop Dogg will be hitting the main stage for the 22 day event. 

This venue came after a long battle. In previous years it was hosted at Chukchansi Park. 

"We have worked out a lot of the parking issues they won't be able to drive through neighborhoods a lot of security," said Garry Bredefeld, Fresno City Councilman. 

Councilman Garry Bredefeld was once a strong opponent to the venue. He said the new rules will create a successful event. 

"City staff has been working very diligently to make sure we resolve concerns," said Bredefeld. 

 Organizers are starting to put the finishing touches on.

"It is exciting times," said Aren Hekimian, Grizzly Fest Promoter. 

At the City Council meeting on Thursday, organizers shared their plans for transportation.

 "We wanted to take steps and measures to make it safe as possible and have a good time," said Hekimian. 

They are going to have shuttle options from Fresno State to the venue. FAX buses will  be picking up concert goers from certain locations and 

There will be hundreds of ride sharing options. They also add there will be plenty of parking at Woodward Park as well.       

Tickets are still on sale. You can buy them online or at the Grizzly Fest River Park office.
