‘Gloria House’ a new shelter for runaway and homeless youth opens in Visalia

A new youth shelter opened today in Visalia. ‘Gloria House’ is a faith-based shelter for runaway and homeless girls.

It will serve as a temporary home for girls ages 14 to 17, who have a history of abuse, abandonment, trafficking or exploitation.

The home can accommodate 24 young women for up to 45 days. It will offer 24-hour shelter services, including meals, showers, hygiene items, laundry and computer services – while also providing counseling and educational support.

Co-founder and executive director Kathy Looper says their goal is to lift the spirits of our youth.
If you’d like to help out Gloria’s House, they have a wish list of items that you can donate at Gloria-house.org.
