A gift for a deputy in northern California has opened his eyes to a whole new world.
Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputy Jeff Dishmon has been colorblind his entire life.
Coworkers surprised him a pair of “EnChroma glasses,” which help correct colorblindness.
“Oh my god!” he said in his reaction to seeing color for the first time.
“What do you see?” asked deputy Samantha Freese, who organized the surprise.
He answered, “A different world.”
The two have worked together for eight years and have become very close, a department Facebook post said.
