Gang Enforcement Team Seizes "Ghost Gun" In City Of Fresno

Gun Crackdown By Authorities Now Underway

A big win for the the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium, also known as M.A.G.E.C.  Officers have taken a so-called "Ghost Gun" off the streets of Fresno.  A "Ghost Gun" is a firearm that was made without a serial number.  An 18-year old Fresno man is behind bars for having the gun in his possession.

On Thursday team members conducted a search of a residence in the 800 block of South Chance in Fresno. The gun was located along with ammo, magazines, and firearm accessories. 

Candido Salaiz, 18 years old of Fresno, was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on firearm charges.The arrest was made while M.A.G.E.C. was conducting gang and illegal gun investigations as part of a larger, Department-wide operation aimed at impacting a recent spike in gang shootings.
