Friends and family are still coming to terms with the death of 22-year-old Servando Aguilar Lopez who died on Monday after a tragic car crash in Chowchilla.
Aguilar Lopez’s friends will miss his smile, his jokes and his contagious laugh.
“He was a positive guy,” said best friend Andres Rios. “Happy guy, a funny guy that made many people laugh.”
“Anytime you hung around with him,” said best friend Jose Ramirez. “You felt his energy, like always happy and made you laugh. Always yelling. You would be like ‘hey whisper’ or something, and he would be like yelling, you know? I don’t have a brother, but he was like my brother.”
Aguilar and Rios were friends in high school but their bond grew enormously once they became teammates at Fresno City College.
“Probably the closest together, me and him were always together,” said Rios. “Those are the best memories we ever had.”
Aguilar Lopez wasn’t there just for the good times, he was there for the bad.
“We reached the state final for Fresno City, and he seen me burst down in tears, and he was the first person to come and support me and his tears came out for me because his tears were coming out of my eyes,” said Rios.
His passing came as a shock to his friends who had seen him just on Saturday. They wish they could say one final goodbye.
“Just that I love him,” said Rios. “I told him that plenty of times so it wouldn’t be anything new but one more I love you wouldn’t hurt.”
Family and friends of Aguilar Lopez ask that anyone that is able to donate for funeral costs to either give to the GoFundMe or attend the car wash this Sunday June 2nd at H.O. tires at 9 a.m.
