A Fresno State professor will pay $17,000 and undergo First Amendment training following an altercation with a pro-life student group, according to attorneys from Alliance Defending Freedom — who represented the students in court.
According to the ADF, each of the two students got $1,000 in the settlement, and the other $15,000 covered the students’ legal fees.
The argument was caught on cell phone between a Fresno State student and public health professor Gregory Thatcher.
The video, which was released on YouTube by the pro-life group Students for Life of America, shows when Thatcher and his students were confronted after being caught scrubbing out pro-life messages written in chalk. The messages were written by the Fresno State Students for Life.
