Fresno Police Nab Serial Armed Robber Whose M.O. is Politeness

News

Fresno, CA – Fresno police nab one of the most wanted serial armed robbers on their radar. He’s suspected of hitting several businesses in the last few weeks.

Fresno police Lt. Dave Madrigal says during the robberies, the suspect is polite and apologetic.

“Hey I’m sorry nothing personal, I’ve got kids to feed, but give me the money.”

A remorseful robber, Police say 31-year old Bryan Onygegebu is responsible for holding up a chevron gas station on October 10, a Walgreens 13 days later and then on Monday, robbing the Little Caesar’s. But this time he was being followed after he fled.

“Some witnesses actually followed his trail, his pathway from the robbery.” said Madrigal

Witnesses lead police to that trail and that’s where they say they were able to link evidence and DNA to the suspect.

“Our street violence team did surveillance in the general area, locate him and he was taken into custody.” said Madrigal.

I spoke with one of his family members. They did not want to go on camera but told me the family has been going through hard times. They do not condone what he did and hope he gets his life together.

The suspect now facing several felony charges. Police believe he’s also responsible for a fourth robbery at a Dollar General, located in the same area as the other robberies.
