Four of the five victims killed in a collision in South Mendota have been identified.

They are 63-year-old Surinder Kumar, 49-year-old Deepak Kumar, 66-year-old Vinod Dhammay and 64-year-old Kuldip Kumar, all from Union City.

The crash happened Tuesday around 9 A.M. on Hwy 33 at Manning Ave in South Mendota.

Fresno County Sheriff deputies are working to confirm the identity of an additional person who was killed in the vehicle.

CHP said it appears their SUV ran a stop sign and slammed into a big rig.

They say two of the people were ejected from the SUV, while the other three remained trapped inside the vehicle, as it caught fire.

The driver of the big rig suffered major injuries and was airlifted to CRMC. No update yet on his current condition.
