Foster denied acquittal in drug trafficking case

News

A judge denied former Fresno Deputy Police Chief Keith Foster a motion for acquittal on Monday — stemming from his May conviction in a drug trafficking case.

The judge also denied Foster’s request for a new trial.

A federal jury found Foster, 53, guilty of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute heroin and conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute marijuana, U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert said.

The jury came out deadlocked on the other six counts.
