Former President Bill Clinton will speak in Fresno on Monday at a public event in support of his wife Hillary Clinton’s campaign for president.

No location or time for the event has been determined yet.

But local Democratic leaders say the event will not be at night, as the former president is set to appear at another event in Sacramento Monday evening.

Doug Kessler, the California Democratic Party Region 8 chair, said in a phone interview that there is a lot of excitement about the former president’s visit to Fresno.

“We’re very excited. It’s not often that an ex-president comes to the Valley at all. It’s very, very nice that he’s coming and not doing…it just for money. It’s not a fundraiser of any type.”

Before coming to Fresno, the former president is scheduled to speak at a United Farm Workers event in Bakersfield on Sunday afternoon.
