Five injured in Fresno County crash

An accident in Fresno County leaves five people injured, the California Highway Patrol says the driver at fault may face DUI charges.
Sunday afternoon just before 12:30, CHP says a driver in a passenger car ran a light at Conejo and Del Rey Avenues. The car hit a truck, and upon impact, the truck was pushed into a yard.
The three men in the car fled the scene, but officers say they later came back because they were injured. A woman in her 50’s was driving the truck, her teenage son was her passenger. The woman suffered moderate to major injuries.
“The driver of the vehicle that ran the stop sign was life-flighted due to the injury assessment,” CHP Sgt. Joseph Bianchi said. “At this point, we are investigating both hit and run and possible DUI.”
Sgt. Bianchi says the truck was going over 50 miles an hour at the time of the crash.
