Fresno Police are investigating a stabbing they say is the result of a neighborly feud gone too far.
The stabbing happened at an apartment complex near Ashcroft Avenue and Clark Street around 8 p.m. Lt. Steve Card said two men in their 20’s were transported to Community Regional Medical Center with multiple stab wounds.
One of the victims is reported to be in critical condition — after being stabbed in the back of the head and neck — while the other has non-life threatening injuries.
Police have learned the fight started between two neighbors who have a history of a feud. One of the men went to another apartment to call another man out. That escalated into a fist fight, eventually escalating into a knife fight.
The one in critical condition is the one who started the argument, Card said he may even have a punctured lung.
Card adds families of the men also got involved.
“We had reports of a female armed with a gun and a knife, involved in the fight,” he said. “Looks like the best we can gather is it’s probably one of the family members of the involved two males that were fighting.”
Card said all involved parties are being very cooperative. One family member was combative with police who responded — that person has since been arrested. It’s the only arrest so far in this investigation.
