Father of Sanger Route 91 Harvest Festival victim ‘She’s in good spirits’

Some good news. A local victim of the Las Vegas shooting is back home in the valley. The family of 23-year-old Jessica Milam said they expect her to make a full recovery. She’s been in the hospital for over a month.

She was in critical condition after being shot in the abdominal. The bullet hit her liver and went through her lung. She suffered from blood loss and the trauma caused kidney failure and a series of infections. Her time in the hospital was filled with ups and downs, but her father Ed Milam said she’s up and walking around. Her physical condition, much better.

He said she’s in good spirits, but is working on grasping the reality of what happened during the country music concert last month. Their family, working together on picking up and putting their normal lives back together after being in a Las Vegas hospital over a month.

“She’s looking into the coverage and articles on what took place in Las Vegas. Dealing with that part of it more and more now because there were so many ups and down with her physically condition some of those things weren’t addressed earlier. We’ve all said, it we all know it, but life is short. When something like this crosses your path you really truly do understand that,” he said.

Ed Milam also said he has high hopes things for Jessica will be back to normal by the New Year.
