The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a woman, who was killed in a DUI crash early Sunday morning in Fresno.
According to a statement by the Coroner’s Office, the victim is Kelly Phetxoumphone, 23, of Fresno.
The incident, according to collision report by the California Highway Patrol, happened just after 2 A.M. According to the report, Phetxoumphone was the passenger in a Honda car that was driven by a 23-year-old woman. The 23-year-old was driving west on Ashlan Avenue, when a Nissan car ran a red light at the intersection of Palm and Ashlan, and hit the Honda on the passenger side.
The Honda car, according to the collision report, then moved in a southwesterly direction, and came to a rest on the southwest corner of the intersection.
Phetxoumphone, according to the collision report, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Nissan car was identified as Lawrence B. Walker III, 21, of Fresno. Walker was arrested for suspicion of felony driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, according to the CHP collision report.
