Family mourns loss of mom killed in collision that knocked out power in Fresno

FRESNO, California - Family members confirm the victim in this mornings fatal crash, which knocked out power to almost 70-thousand in Fresno, was a single mom.

Relatives says 29-year-old Rita Gray leaves behind a 4-year-old son, and was only about two miles from home when the crash happened.

Gray's uncle, Vincent Diaz, graciously spoke with us. He says her heart was as big as the earth and she always had a smile on her face.

He says many family members live on the same block, so when the power went out for them
they had no idea it was Gray until they got the call this morning.

"The hardest part has been actually watching a four year old little boy, have to try to explain to him that his mother's gone. That's going to be the biggest and hardest part for all of us," said Gray's uncle Vincent Diaz.

The family tells us Gray was on her way home from work when the car occurred. Police are still determining what led up to the deadly crash.

Family has started a GoFund Me account in Gray's son's name.
