The Emmy award winning television show, Extreme Makeover Home Edition is coming back to the heart of California’s Central Valley.
De Young Properties announced one lucky family will be getting a brand new house on HGTV’s reboot show.
Brandon De Young is the Executive Vice President for De Young Properties. He said he is excited to work once again with the cast and crew.
“You can see how truly dedicated they are to give back to these communities that they go to,” said De Young. “You know, we are just extremely excited to be apart of it once again.”
At the announcement Clovis Mayor, Drew Bessinger, spoke about the importance of building a home for a deserving family in the city he represents.
“People in our region are having difficulty financially with issues with housing,” said Bessinger.
Ten years ago the show built a house fully accessible to those with disabilities for Maryann Riojas who lived in Fresno.
Riojas said she was nominated for the house and never imagined being chosen for the show. Now, she has a large house built just for her and her family.
“Everything is wheelchair accessible, the counters are low, I am able to go anywhere in my home and not have any obstacles,” said Riojas.”
She said having a home custom built for her was a dream come true and is excited about what awaits for the next recipients.
“It is an extreme reminder that there are a lot of good people still around and I am reminded daily,” said Riojas.
The family that gets chosen by HGTV will be revealed July 27th.
