FRESNO, California (KSEE) – Wednesday marks the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks which claimed the lives of 2,996 people. Events are being held on September 11th up and down the Central Valley to remember the victims and honor their sacrifice.
In Clovis, a memorial will take place at the California 9/11 Memorial at 3500 Never Forget Lane, which is located inside the Clovis Industrial Park near the intersection of Dakota and Peach. It starts at 8:30 a.m. and is open to all.
In Tulare, the Central California Blood Center will be joining forces with the Tulare Rotary Club, the City of Tulare Fire Department, and Tulare AMVETS, to host its 13th annual Tulare Rotary 9/11 Memorial Blood Drive. Donors are invited to come out and donate, remember the lives lost, but also celebrate the lives gained through blood donation. It’s being held from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Tulare Veteran’s Memorial Building on 1771 E. Tulare Avenue.
In Kingsburg, the re-opening of the city’s Fire Station #2 will also mark the 18th anniversary of 9/11. The ceremony starts at 8:46 a.m. at 1880 S. Bethel Avenue.
In Fresno, Fresno City College’s remembrance of 9/11 will start at 9 a.m. with the annual wreath march. The march will begin at the main fountain in the center of the college.
