This week’s Educator of the Week took our Christina Tetreault to Century Elementary School in Clovis.
Educator of the Week — something she wasn’t expecting, but an honor she surely deserves.
“She sets the standard for what a teacher should be like. She has high expectations for students. They work hard to try to reach them,” said Century Elementary Principal Brion Warren.
Cindy Dailey has worked in education for 32 years. The 6th grade teacher says her kids are the reason, and each day isn’t just a lesson for them.
“I like to see them grow and learn and get excited about something — the challenge to see if I can move somebody farther than they were before…It teaches me to listen to the kids because they know more than I do sometimes and how they think helps me figure out what I need to teach them,” said Dailey
“Mrs. Dailey is really understanding. She is nice. She can also be funny and that’s not something all teachers can do,” said Student Atom Paz.
“Yes my teacher is the best and that is why she got nominated,” Student Khloe Bell.
The subtle sarcasm, high fives, and her encouragement makes Mrs. Dailey our KSEE24 Educator of the Week
“These are our future. They’re the ones who are going to take care of us and they need to have those skills to move on,” said Dailey.
If you have someone you think should be our next Educator of the Week you can nominate them here.
