This weeks educator of the week took YourCentralValley.com to Monache High School in Porterville
the lesson of the day is “solar system and with mariko williams’ visual lesson plans…these students act out their curriculum.
it’s a way she not only teaches but interacts with her students.
this wasn’t her first career. The high school english and science special education teacher is a seasoned military and police force veteran who was assigned to monache high school as their officer.
“this one the staff was welcoming the kids are spirit the staff is so helpful i knew this is where i wanted to be,” she said.
Now Miss Williams is known for going above and beyond in the classroom

“when i see her interact with the students helping them she’s always there so when the student needs help she’s always there she it makes me want to be a teacher of special ed,” guadalupe mesa, junior, student
“these def are the future of our community these kids are here getting ready to work and learn they’re going to be the ones taking care of us for sure they ask questions they’re excited to be here,” said Williams.
