Josh Turner is scheduled to perform in Yakima, Wash., on Friday

FRESNO, California (KSEE/KGPE) — The man who was behind the wheel of the bus that crashed near Shandon is now recovering in Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

California Highway Patrol said 39-year-old Bradley Dratnol was driving when the crash happened around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday. In a press release, CHP said the bus drifted off of Highway 46 in San Luis Obispo County before it drove off a cliff that’s around 50-feet high.

One person died, while seven others are injured. All are road crew for country and gospel singer Josh Turner, and had just left Paso Robles after performing there.

Dratnol is currently listed in serious condition. Investigators have ruled out drugs or alcohol as a cause of the crash.

Another victim of the crash may be transported to CRMC Thursday afternoon, according to a spokeswoman.
