Driver crashes car into pole after failing to yield at traffic stop

FRESNO, California (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno Police say a driver in a black Chevy Malibu crashed near Shaw Avenue and Sixth Street after failing to yield for a traffic stop.

Officials say it all started at 5:30 p.m. when a suspicious car pulled over, they pulled next to it and saw marijuana inside. It then led to a very short chase and the driver crashed into a pole and ran.

The suspect was running and holding a gun, Fresno PD says. He was found not too far from the crash scene and was arrested.

“The suspect is refusing to identify himself,” said Fresno Police Lt. Bill Dooley.
