Hanford Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that happened late Saturday night.

According to a statement by Hanford Police, officers were called out to the 1000 block of N. White Street, at approximately 10:35 P.M. Saturday, for a report of shots fired in the area. According to police, several reporting parties reported hearing a car accelerating away from the scene, and officers found a bullet entry point, on the north wall of the residence.

According to police, the bullet went through the wall, into a bathroom, and struck a sliding glass door of a shower, shattering it. A bullet fragment, according to police, was found inside the bathroom, and officers were not able to locate any other bullet entry points, after searching the home’s exterior and interior. In addition, no evidence were found, after a check of the surrounding area.

According to one witness, the suspect car is described as an older model sedan of unknown color, with tail lights that covered the entire back. The residence involved, according to Hanford Police, was occupied by one person at the time, who was sleeping and woke up to the sound of gunshots. The victim, according to police, believes there is only one person in the car.

Anyone with information should call Hanford Police.
