Dozens of volunteers paint crosswalk in Fresno’s Tower District

Fresno’s tower district may be known for its murals but Saturday, the colorful art was taken to the streets!

Dozens of volunteers painted the crosswalks at the intersection of Olive and Wishon, right in front of the Tower Theatre. It was part two of a community art initiative led by the Fresno Arts Council and City Council Member Esmerelda Soria.

Last weekend they painted a crosswalk near Fresno High School.

“For us, it’s thinking outside the box for us, its very cost-effective to re-beautify the neighborhood, and make sure we all have pride in the Tower District and the history it represents for us,” said Fresno City Council Member Miguel Arias.

Organizers want to expand the project with the help of donations and volunteers.
