Fresno, California - Friends and family of 32-year-old Brittney Taylor say they're heartbroken after Taylor was shot and killed over the weekend. Both investigators and family members believe her death was the result of domestic violence. Her boyfriend Terrence Boston was arrested Monday morning.
Only a tree stopped a vehicle from crashing through homes near Olive and Cornelia Sunday morning. When investigators arrived they found 32-year-old Brittney Taylor lifeless inside the driver's seat.
"We believe she was the victim of a shooting that occurred at the intersection," said Sgt. John Alvarado of the Fresno County Sheriff's Department.
Taylor died at the scene. Monday morning her boyfriend 29-year-old Terrence Boston was arrested and charged with murder. Taylor's family has set up a "Go Fund Me" page offering this statement:
"Our fallen angel Brittney Taylor was called back to the lord. We would like everyone to remember Brittney as the happy and free spirited being she was. We are devastated and trying to put the pieces together"
Leaders at Fresno's Marjaree Mason Center say this alleged act of domestic violence is exactly what they are trying to avoid.
"Well it is very sad and what we often see are individuals who are victims who don't even realize that the relationship they're in can turn fatal or even turn violent," said Marjaree Mason Center Associate Director Lucianna Ventresca.
As investigators build their case, domestic violence victims advocates urge people to seek help if they need it.
"Our hotline is available to them 24 hours a day seven days a week. We don't take a break from receiving those calls," said Ventresca.
The hotline phone number is: (559) 233-HELP (4357)
