She’s the funny one that sits on the left side of the table on CBS’s ‘The Talk.’
“In the meeting it seems like I’m not paying attention but really what I’m doing is running jokes in my head,” co-host Sheryl Underwood grew up in the Valley and made it big, adding her personality to the Emmy Award winning talk show.
“And then we put everything on with hair makeup wardrobe and then its out to the audience and me and Mrs. O hold hands,” Underwood describes her typical day at the office.
A standup comedian since the 1980s, she’s the life of the party.
“In between the break its really a party. Is it time for shoe giveaway? Red shoes with red bottoms! Yeah! Right there yeah!,” Underwood pumps up the crowd.
We caught up with the Atwater High School Alum back in 2016 to talk about her valley roots.
After all, she’s the most famous Atwater Falcon.
But she won’t admit it.
“I would say that Joey (Horta) is more famous than me as a Falcon. We went to the same high school,” Underwood jokes.
After graduating from Atwater where she was the rally commissioner, Underwood studied at Fresno City College and she hasn’t forgotten where she came from.
“I love where I’m from. I love the San Joaquin Valley. We love Fresno, Merced, Chowchilla, Madera, Turlock, Lodi and Atwater. Who did I forget Tulare and Visalia?”
Always on and ever ready to have ‘The Talk.’
You can watch ‘The Talk,’ weekdays at 1:00 p.m. on CBS47.
